Getting Married

Congratulations! There are several procedures to complete after marriage. Take them one by one.

    Marriage Registration (Konin-todoke)
    Start here. Need 2 adult witnesses.
    Bring your Marriage Registration form (with 2 witnesses' signatures) and ID to City Hall. It's free and can be submitted 24/7!

    My Number Card Application
    Update if your surname or address changed.
    Apply easily via smartphone! When the postcard arrives a month later, bring your Residence Card and go to City Hall in person to pick it up.

    🏥 Health & Insurance Open
    National Health Insurance Enrollment
    May need to update if joining/leaving spouse's insurance.
    If you leave your job, you must join City Health Insurance within 14 days. Bring the 'Certificate of Loss of Insurance' from your old company to City Hall!
