If the medical expenses you paid at the same medical institution in the same month exceed the "out-of-pocket maximum amount," the excess amount will be paid upon application.

Under Ota City's National Health Insurance, a notice will be sent to eligible individuals in the latter half of the month, approximately two months after the medical treatment. Please do not apply immediately the next month; wait for the notice to arrive and follow the instructions to apply at the location specified in the notice.

Also, if you know in advance that you will be hospitalized, you can apply for a "Maximum Amount Application Certificate" (Gendogaku Tekiyo Ninteisho). By presenting this, your payment at the hospital counter will be limited to your maximum amount from the start (Note: It may not be issued if you have unpaid National Health Insurance tax).
